              Achievements 2010-11

Major Achievements /Impact of Centrally Sponsored Schemes by Agriculture Department, Kashmir Division during 2010-11

 1.     Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna (RKVY)

v         175-Hectares have been brought under new Vegetable Hybrid varieties with an assistance of Rs. 33750/hectare.

v         199-Hectares have been brought under new Hybrid varieties of Maize with an assistance of Rs. 5000/ hectare.

v         88-Vermi Compost Units have been established with an assistance of Rs.30000/unit.

v         28-Bore Wells have been established in the Rainfed Areas with an assistance of Rs.2.00 lacs/Bore Well.

v         115-IP Sets have been distributed to the farmers on 50% subsidy.

v         48-Ponds have been constructed with an assistance of Rs.1.03 lacs/pond.

v         126-Hectares have been covered under Waste Development Programme with an assistance of Rs.0.50 lac/ha.

v         80-Power Tillers have been distributed with an assistance of Rs.0.45 lac /tiller.

v         152-Mushroom Units have been established in the Private Sector with an assistance of Rs.0.25 lac/unit.

v         110-Bee Keeping Units have been established in the Private Sector with an assistance of Rs.0.20 lac/unit.

v         15-Water Harvesting Tanks have been constructed with an assistance of Rs.1.00 lac/tank.

v         1176-Hectares have been brought under Double Cropping System of Paddy Oats Rotation with an assistance of Rs.0.03 lac/ hectare.

v         935-Hectares have been brought under Paddy-Wheat Rotation with an assistance of Rs. 0.03 lac/ hectare.

v         10-Exposure Visits of Progressive Farmers outside the State were undertaken.

v         24-Training Camps were organized.

v         SM Farm Padgampora, Allowpora, Khumbathang (Kargil) and Gupuk (Leh) have been developed on Modern Scientific lines for production of quality seeds.

                2.      Horticulture Mission for NE&HS

v         2-Hectares were brought under Seed Production Programme in the Departmental SM Farms in respect of open Pollinated and Hybrid Seeds.

v         100-Hectt. have been covered under area expansion prog. of Hybrid Seeds with an assistance of Rs.33750/ hectare.

v         21-Ponds for creations of Water Harvesting System for individuals have been created with an assistance of Rs.1.03 lacs/pond.

v         25-Vermi Compost Units have been established for Promotion of Organic Farming.       

 3.       Integrated Scheme for the development of Oilseed,Pulses,oil Palm & Maize ( ISOPOM)

v         800-Quintals of Hybrid/Certified Maize Seeds distributed with an assistance of Rs.1200/Qtl.

v         144-Block Demonstrations organized.

v         20-IPM Demonstration on FFS Pattern organized.

v         80-Hectares were brought under PP Chemicals.

v         37-Farmers Training Camps organized.

v         13-Training Camps of the Deptl. Officers organized.

                4.        Macro Management of Agriculture (MMA)

v         6000-Quintals of Certified Seed of Paddy were distributed to the Farmers.

v         160-Quintals of Wheat Seed were distributed to the Farmers.

v         580-Demonstrations on Rice Crop were laid.

v         60-Demonstrations were laid on Wheat Crop.

v         47-Trainings Camps on Paddy/Wheat Crops were organized.

v         550-Qtls. of Pulse Seeds were distributed to the farmers.

v         1094-IPM/INM Demonstrations were laid on Oilseed and Pulse Crops.

v         22-Mass Media Campaigns were organized in all the Districts of Valley.

v         29-Power Tillers were distributed with an assistance of Rs. 0.45 lac/unit.

v         590-IP Sets were distributed on 50% subsidy.

v         18000-Soil Health Cards were distributed.

v         5-Exhibitions on New Technologies were organized.

v         3-Exposure Visits of Progressive Farmers outside the State were organized.

                5.        National Watershed Development Project for Rainfed Area (NWDPRA)

v         14-Watershed Projects were saturated with the coverage of 2312 Hectares under different Soil Conservation Measures.

                6.       Seed Village Programme

v         50-Quintals of Foundation Seed of Paddy Crop were distributed for Seed Village Programme on 50% subsidy.

v         40-Training Camps were organized.

7.       Agriculture Technology Management Agency ( ATMA)

v         2-Mega Exhibitions were organized in the Districts of Anantnag and Baramulla and more than 10000 Farmers participated in the each Mega Exhibition.

v         2-State Level Awards, 12-District Level Awards and   142-Block Level Awards were given to the best farmers who have performed well in the filed of Agriculture.

v         2700-Farmers were trained at the Block Level.

v         325-Demonstrations were organized.

v         38-Inter State Exposure Visit average 5 farmers from each Block were organized.

v         36-District Exposure Visits average 100-farmers from each Block were organized.

v         12-District Level Exhibition/Kissan Mela were organized.

v         12-Farmers Scientists inter action at District Level were organized.

v         15-numbers field days and Kissan Goshties to strengthen linkage were organized.

8.   National Mission on Saffron

v         One Public Sector Nursery was established at SM Farm Allowpora for Multiplication of Saffron Corms.

v         80-Vermi Compost Units were established in the Saffron Areas of District Pulwama, Budgam and Srinagar.

v         3-Literature and 4 farmer’s day (Trainings) were organized in the Districts of Pulwama,        Budgam and Srinagar.
