
Integrated Scheme of Oil Seeds, Pulses, Oil Palm, and Maize (ISOPOM)
The Department of Agriculture & Cooperation, GOI, has been implementing following Centrally Sponsored Schemes under TMOP&M for increasing production of Oil Seeds, Pulses, Maize and Oil Palm in the Country:-
- Oil Seeds Production Programme (OPP)
- National Pulses Development Project (NDPP)
- Accelerated Maize Development Programme (AMDP)
- Oil Palm Development Programme (OPDP) (not operational in our state.
In the year 2004-05 the GOI, modified and merged the four schemes into one Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Oil seeds, Pulses, Oil Palm and Maize (ISOPOM) in order to promote Crop Diversification, Provide focused approach to the programmes
Special features of ISOPOM
- Annual Action Plan is formulated by the State Governments
- Involvement of Private Sector by the State Governments in implementation programme with a financial cap of 15%
- Only Maize Crop has been identified for the J&K State.
COMPONENTS OF ISOPOM
- Production and Purchase of Breeder Seeds.
- Production of Foundation Seeds.
- Production of Certified Seeds through Seed Village Schemes.
- Assistance for infrastructure Development.
- Supply of Plant Protection Chemicals/Weedicides/ Bio-Pesticides @ Rs 500/- per ha.
- Supply of Plant Protection Equipment on 50% subsidy @ Rs 800/- for manually and @ Rs 2000/- for power operated.
- IPM Demonstrations.
- Farmers Training @ Rs 15,000/- per training for a batch of 50 farmers.
- Block Demonstrations @ Rs 4,000/- per Ha.
- Sprinkler Sets @ Rs 15,000/- for SC/ST/Women farmers and Rs 10,000/- for other categories.
